Gave my Greek BD top a mild bleach cold water soak.

...which doesn't appear to have made a blind bit of difference.

Guess so. I'm sure wool takes a bleach...? I know whatever my "medic" breadbag is made from does not!

today I have been wearing Luftwaffe tropical trousers - got some weird looks when at Tesco's, ASDA and walking up the high street.

Some old duffer, god bless him - actually knew what i was wearing and then shook his stick at me. I ended up talking with him to 20 minutes and offered to buy him a cuppa.

old servicemen - not many left

...Have been making Brit 3rd Infantry Div insignia patches.
Found some proper fine clothing felt (not the usual kiddy fuzzie-felt stuff) and set about with my period sewing machine to produce a couple of pairs to the correct period style (proper 2" wide ones - not like some oversized repro ones) with backed with cotton poplin sheet and then an extra (modern addition) layer of fibre backing material for the sake of making them more hard wearing and keeping them in shape.

I only needed one set, but have loads of material left over and have made many more. Anybody want any for £5 a pair posted? Half the price of SoF without their postage.

.....crammed some vsr internals into my enfield no 4 stock. its almost done and really taking shape although there are a couple of bits im not happy with, like the bolt handle position which is too far forward. and the style of the bolt handle which im hoping to replace with something a bit mor 'period' looking.also the trigger is too far forward aswell but still usable, but i may try and make one which comes further back.
